Free iPhone Filmmaking Meetup at the Apple Store!

UPDATE: Sunday’s Meetup has SOLD OUT!  Because the conference room under the Apple Store isn’t especially huge, they had to cap attendance to 85 or so.  For those who got in under the wire, I’ll see you tomorrow!  It’s going to be a blast!

Will you be in the Los Angeles area this Sunday (Jan 31st) at 4pm?  Come join me, and several amazing guest speakers for the first iPhone Filmmaking Meetup! In addition to learning a ton, you’ll get to meet and mingle with many like-minded mobile filmmakers.

It’s being organized and hosted by the Apple Store in Santa Monica, and it’s sure to be a kick-ass event.  Registration is free, so sign up early.  Based on the speaker list, I’m guessing the event will fill up fast.

Shang-Chi Director Directed From His iPhone

I enjoyed reading this brief ScreenRant story, so I thought I’d share it here. It describes how Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, was forced to direct an important scene via his iPhone while in the hospital for the birth of his child! Sadly, it doesn’t divulge the details of that unusual workflow, but it’s an excellent reminder that we’re all toting the world’s most versatile piece of filmmaking gear in our pockets and purses!
