Great Mobile Filmmaking Article in March issue of L.A. Magazine

Zachary Pincus-Roth has written a terrific article for Los Angeles Magazine that explores the state of mobile technology in the entertainment business. It’s quite thorough, filled with insights from filmmakers and app developers. I think he managed to capture the excitement and resistance shared by many filmmakers.

Since I was quoted a couple times in the piece, I’m hoping Los Angeles Magazine grants me reprint permissions so I can share it with you on HHH. Until then, you can find the article in the March issue now available online and on newsstands.

Shang-Chi Director Directed From His iPhone

I enjoyed reading this brief ScreenRant story, so I thought I’d share it here. It describes how Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, was forced to direct an important scene via his iPhone while in the hospital for the birth of his child! Sadly, it doesn’t divulge the details of that unusual workflow, but it’s an excellent reminder that we’re all toting the world’s most versatile piece of filmmaking gear in our pockets and purses!
