It’s not often we get to excitedly report on anything Android-ish, but that’s about to change. Early this morning, Engadget posted the specs of a forthcoming LG smart phone. It’s part of LG’s Android Optimus line, and it looks mighty filmmaker friendly.
In addition to a 4″ screen and a dual-core Tegra 2 chip, this puppy sports an eight megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p HD video. Apple’s current offerings top out at 720p. While there’s no doubt that Apple will eventually release a 1080p capable iPhone, it probably won’t be for some time.
Naturally, all this means nada unless some good Android apps hit the market. We’ll let you know when they do.
