Live HHH Presentation at LAPPG this Wednesday!

Calling all iPad and iPhone owning filmmakers in L.A.!

Come join me this Wednesday night (the 13th) for a live Hand Held Hollywood presentation at the Los Angeles Post Production Group (LAPPG). I’ll be showing off the latest and greatest filmmaking apps and accessories.

If you’ve been using your iDevice simply to check email, and play Angry Birds, it’s time to learn about all the amazing media making tools that have arrived for the iOS platform. As always, I’ll be answering mobile filmmaking questions, offering workflow suggestions, and accidentally swearing.

But wait, there’s more!  In addition to my presentation, the LAPPG will also be welcoming Transactional Entertainment Attorney Hillary Bibicoff. She’ll be offering some pointers on how to avoid legal pitfalls when developing and producing content.

For more information, including the RSVP email address, hop on over to the LAPPG website.

See you there!

Heading Into the Sunse— Hang on. I have a call.

Dear iPhone fanatics and filmmaking friends, This will be the final post for Hand Held Hollywood. To loyal HHH readers, I’m sure this feels somewhat overdue. Probably because it is.

Shang-Chi Director Directed From His iPhone

I enjoyed reading this brief ScreenRant story, so I thought I’d share it here. It describes how Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, was forced to direct an important scene via his iPhone while in the hospital for the birth of his child! Sadly, it doesn’t divulge the details of that unusual workflow, but it’s an excellent reminder that we’re all toting the world’s most versatile piece of filmmaking gear in our pockets and purses!
