Spinning Plates is in Theaters NOW!

As you may know from my earlier posts and tweets, I’ve spent much of the past few years producing a feature documentary called Spinning Plates. Directed by my close friend and business partner Joseph Levy, Spinning Plates is an intimate look at food, family, legacy and passion. It explores three extraordinary restaurants and the incredible people who bring them to life. The film has won several festival awards, and garnered some terrific press. I’m profoundly proud of this film and the team that helped create it.

I’m thrilled to report that Spinning Plates opened in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, selling out several screenings. As of yesterday, we’ve expanded to include theaters in Boston, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.. Next Friday, we’ll be expanding to Atlanta, Denver, Minneapolis, and Seattle.

So, there you have it! I hope this explains why HHH has been quiet these past few weeks. I haven’t been posting about filmmaking because I’ve been busy filmmaking! Which reminds me – Why haven’t you seen the film yet?!

Check out the trailer, visit the film’s website, and then go see it tonight! While you’re at it, bring everyone you know!  You can also Like the film on Facebook, and follow it on Twitter.

More iPhonerific and iPadtastic posts coming next week. Until then, go see Spinning Plates!

Shang-Chi Director Directed From His iPhone

I enjoyed reading this brief ScreenRant story, so I thought I’d share it here. It describes how Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, was forced to direct an important scene via his iPhone while in the hospital for the birth of his child! Sadly, it doesn’t divulge the details of that unusual workflow, but it’s an excellent reminder that we’re all toting the world’s most versatile piece of filmmaking gear in our pockets and purses!
