Announcing “Storyboard” for iOS

True Hero Studio, the folks behind the Producer & Producer HD apps for iPhone and iPad have recently announced their latest tool for iOS devices, aptly named: Storyboard. The beautifully designed app, due to appear in the App Store any day now [update: it’s been released!], will offer some pretty exciting features:

  • Storyboard Projects: Manage all your Storyboard projects. Break down your stories in to chapters, scenes and cell.
  • Import, Sketch or Use The Camera: Insert images and photos, take your own with iPad2 or your iPhone. Sketch them from scratch.
  • Storyboard Image Painter: Full range of drawing tools and features such as paint, arrow shapes, eraser, layers and colour picker.
  • Cell Annotations: Add and maintain cell annotations.
  • Storyboard PDF Export: Save your storyboard PDF locally, drop box it or email it for quick feedback.
  • Visual Cell Markup: Type setting, shapes for your work-flow or camera crop and its movement.

Shang-Chi Director Directed From His iPhone

I enjoyed reading this brief ScreenRant story, so I thought I’d share it here. It describes how Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, was forced to direct an important scene via his iPhone while in the hospital for the birth of his child! Sadly, it doesn’t divulge the details of that unusual workflow, but it’s an excellent reminder that we’re all toting the world’s most versatile piece of filmmaking gear in our pockets and purses!
